Pad Thai

Created in late 1930s, Pad Thai is stir-fried rice noodle with vegetables, bean sprouts, dried tofu, dried shrimps (sometimes prawn), and egg. “It may be the original fast food in Thailand,” Nitya Pibulsonggram, Thailand’s former ambassador to the United States and former Minister of Foreign Affairsm, told Gastronomica in 2009. Pad Thai, the cheapest protein and most nutritious meal is available from hi-end restaurant to street food venders through out the country.
